The first question is who paid for it
Most of what turns up in a cabinet is sellable, and estate lots are among the largest we buy. The two things worth establishing first are how much time is left on the dates and where the supplies originally came from — both quick to sort out, and we will do it with you on the phone before anyone drives anywhere. Whatever we cannot take, we will tell you where to donate rather than let it go in a bin.
How to check: look for pharmacy paperwork, an explanation of benefits, or the insurance card that was on file. If nothing survives, call us — we deal with this constantly and it is usually settled in a couple of minutes.
What is actually worth something
In rough order of value: Omnipod pods, Dexcom sensors, FreeStyle Libre sensors, pump infusion sets and reservoirs, then name-brand test strips, then everything else. A cabinet that looks like clutter is usually mostly sensors by value, with the strips a small fraction of the total. Do not throw the small boxes out before someone has looked at them — the sensor cartons are usually the plain ones.
What cannot be sold, regardless
- Opened boxes. A broken seal means no resale value.
- Expired boxes. Once the date has passed, nobody can resell it.
Donation, when selling is off the table
Georgia has drug and supply repository programs, and free clinics across the metro accept unopened, in-date diabetic supplies. Local diabetes education programs and community health centers are usually the fastest route. More on donating in Georgia.
How we handle estate lots
One visit. We sort the lot in front of you, separate what we can buy from what we cannot, explain each refusal, and pay for the sellable portion in a single transaction. We do not need you to pre-sort anything, and we do not need the house presentable. Most estate lots take twenty minutes to work through.
